Light up Louisville

For the 2024 and 2025 editions of Light Up Louisville, Backbeat produced a large-scale projection mapping show on the historic facade of Louisville Metro Hall in Louisville.

Light Up Louisville is one of the city’s largest annual holiday celebrations, drawing thousands of residents and visitors downtown to kick off the holiday season. Traditionally known for fireworks and lighting ceremonies, the event has increasingly embraced immersive visual storytelling to create a shared experience for the crowd gathered in front of Metro Hall.

Backbeat was brought in to design and execute a projection mapping show that would transform the architecture of Metro Hall into a living holiday canvas. The project involved producing the full visual experience, designing and animating the content, and precisely mapping the building so the animation aligned perfectly with the structure.
