Backbeat developed custom motion graphics for a permanent rear-projection installation at Netflix House for the show Wednesday.

Working in collaboration with Jetblack Film Co., the production began with green screen performances from the actors. Their movements were captured and translated into motion data, allowing us to retain the natural performance and timing of the original footage. That motion data was then applied to a custom-built werewolf character rig, enabling the creature animation to be driven directly by the actors’ physical performances.

This process allowed the scene to transition seamlessly from human character to werewolf transformation while maintaining the continuity of the performance. The final content was designed specifically for rear projection onto the window surface, creating a convincing illusion that the characters were just outside the glass, bringing a cinematic moment from the world of Wednesday into a physical space for visitors to experience.
